The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is an initiative of College Board. The program allows high school students to take college level course and earn credit or advanced placement. The AP is an examination recognized across United States, Canada and other part of the world. Many institutions grant up to a full year of college credit (sophomore standing) to students who earn a sufficient number of qualifying AP grades. There are now 35 courses on offer in a variety of subjects. The course material of each AP course matched with corresponding college course. The examinations are available for each AP course. Many schools offer tuition / coaching facility for AP course, however, students do not necessarily require taking AP course before taking actual AP examination.
