The ACT is the entrance examination conducted by ‘ACT’ (formerly known as ‘American College Testing’ Inc.) an education and evaluation agency situated in the Iowa City . The ACT Testing Board / ACT Board conducts the ACT entrance examination. The ACT serves the purpose to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. ACT has two sections-
The ACT multiple-choice tests cover four skill areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.
The ACT Writing Test, which is optional, measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.
If you are planning to join an America’s college after completion of 12 years of schooling then your college may ask for ACT Score. Many of the America’s college consider ACT Score as primary requirement for accepting applications. However, a college / college department may also conduct its own written test once or in more tiers, essay test and interviews etc for offer of final admission.
The ACT score is also required when you apply for scholarship to some scholarship agency or college scholarship. Many scholarship agencies consider ACT score as primary requirement for accepting applications for scholarship, either merit scholarships or need based scholarships.
